The Memtones, Original Reclaimed Metal Sculpture
One-of-a-Kind Narrative Sculpture by Bobby Anderson, RVA246
The Memtones are a sculptural ensemble of musicians, originally formed in Memphis, Tennessee from reclaimed materials by artist Bobby Anderson.
Made up of three musician sculptures, Trumpet Blues, Guitar Slim, and Woody Winds, The Memtones are ready to bring some Memphis blues to your location.
Each figure has its own instrument, stance, and personality, but together they read as a complete band. The group turns discarded metal and found parts into a compact stage full of rhythm, character, and Memphis attitude.

Three Players, One Band
The Memtones capture the energy of a small blues combo through gesture, silhouette, and the personalities of the reclaimed parts themselves.
Rather than hiding the history of the materials, the sculpture lets bolts, hardware, scraps, and mechanical forms become instruments, bodies, and stage presence.
Together, Trumpet Blues, Guitar Slim, and Woody Winds form a singular sculptural tribute to music, improvisation, and Memphis.
There is only one Memtones ensemble.
