Moon Ball Lamp
Original Sculptural Lighting by Bobby Anderson, RVA246
Moon Ball is a popular sport in certain galaxies.
Bots, rockets, jet boots, and plenty of moon balls flying around at dangerous speeds. It’s a little like dodgeball with cannonballs while traveling 200 mph.
Three moon ballers orbit the main beacon tower, each trying to make the next impossible play. The rules are unclear. The enthusiasm is not.
Built from reclaimed metal, found objects, vintage glass, and repurposed components, Moon Ball Lamp turns a chaotic little sporting event into functional sculpture. A central candelabra light glows through the vintage glass shade while the surrounding figures seem to race around it.
Four auxiliary loops around the lower structure can also hold flowers or other small objects, adding another layer of movement and display.
