Goddess: Idea - Original Sculptural Lighting

One-of-a-Kind Functional Sculpture by Bobby Anderson, RVA246

Idea is a goddess of reinvention that sprung forth fully formed from a humble collection of discarded materials.

An antique stove top, a lamp post, and 1940s furnace parts help shape her form and spirit. No matter where you are in life, she offers support, serenity, and strength.

At 28 inches tall, Idea has a strong architectural presence while remaining intimate enough for a table, pedestal, console, or special corner of a room. Light becomes part of her character, transforming reclaimed mechanical forms into something ceremonial, protective, and unexpectedly graceful.

A Goddess Built From What Was Left Behind

Idea embodies the possibility that usefulness, beauty, and identity can emerge from materials that appear to have reached the end of their original lives.

The antique stove top, furnace components, lamp hardware, and other found parts remain recognizable, but together they become something entirely new. Their former functions are absorbed into a figure whose purpose is less mechanical and more symbolic.

Idea stands as a small monument to reinvention, resourcefulness, and the belief that transformation can begin with what is already at hand.

Her removable tussy mussy adds another living element to the sculpture, allowing fresh or dried flowers to become part of the work.

There is only one Goddess: Idea.
