Flowers 2, Original Reverse Glass Painting

One-of-a-Kind Wall Art by Bobby Anderson, RVA246

Flowers 2 is an original reverse glass painting where color, transparency, and changing light become part of the composition.

Painted in acrylic and enamel on reclaimed glass, the abstract floral forms shift as illumination changes throughout the day. Viewed against a wall, the piece has rich color and reflective depth. Placed where light can pass through the glass, additional colors and layers emerge.

The painting remains in its original antique window frame, giving the work architectural character and another layer of history.

Painted Backwards, Experienced in Light

Reverse glass painting requires the image to be built in the opposite order of traditional painting. Details and foreground elements are applied first, followed by successive layers behind them.

The finished image is viewed through the glass itself, giving the surface a clarity and luminosity unlike canvas or paper.

In Flowers 2, reclaimed architecture, expressive painting, and changing light come together in a work that can reveal something different depending on where and when it is viewed.

There is only one Flowers 2.
