Flowers 1 - Original Reverse Glass Painting
One-of-a-Kind Wall Art by Bobby Anderson, RVA246
Flowers 1 is an original reverse glass painting built from vivid color, layered gesture, and reclaimed architectural glass.
Painted in acrylic and enamel on the reverse side of the glass, the floral composition is viewed through the surface itself. Blues, yellows, greens, and reds shift with changing light, reflection, and transparency, giving the piece a different presence throughout the day.
The reclaimed glass remains set within its original antique window frame, allowing the history of the material to become part of the artwork.

Color Seen Through Glass
Reverse glass painting requires the image to be constructed in an unconventional order. Details and foreground elements are painted first, followed by successive layers behind them. The completed image is then viewed through the glass.
That process gives Flowers 1 a clarity and luminosity that changes with its surroundings. Against a wall, the work feels saturated and graphic. Where light can pass through or reflect across the surface, additional depth and transparency emerge.
The result is a contemporary abstract floral painting that combines expressive mark-making with reclaimed materials and architectural character.
There is only one Flowers 1.
