Boxy is a one-of-a-kind robot lamp built from found metal with original patina and a compact, character-rich presence. A single candelabra bulb glows from inside his little metal body, bringing warmth, personality, and a sense of discovery to any space. Small in scale but big in spirit, Boxy is both functional art and a sculptural companion.
About the Artwork
Created by Memphis artist Bobby Anderson (RVA246), Boxy is a handmade sculptural lamp assembled from reclaimed metal components selected for their shape, age, and visual character. The original surface wear, rust, and patina are preserved as part of the piece, giving Boxy his history and personality.
Like all RVA246 robot works, Boxy is more than an object. He is a character with purpose. What was once an ordinary metal box has been reimagined into something welcoming, useful, and alive with presence.
A single candelabra bulb inside the body provides illumination, while the inline cord switch makes him easy to use as a small accent lamp, conversation piece, or collectible work of functional art.
