Femme Metale is a larger-than-life robot lamp built from reclaimed metal, found objects, vintage components, and light. Her name plays on femme fatale, fitting a figure that combines glamour, attitude, danger, and a little rock-and-roll swagger.

With an elaborate marble-tipped headdress, sweeping arms, illuminated eyes, and a dramatic backlight, Femme Metale shifts character when the lights come on. By day, she reads as an intricate metal sculpture. Lit, she becomes theatrical, casting a glow around her silhouette and bringing the figure fully to life.

With her mystical batons, uzis, serpent dagger, she's not just here to rock. She's here to kick ass. Components can be removed.

Femme Metale is assembled intuitively from objects that began with entirely different purposes. Curves, mechanical parts, glass, hardware, and discarded metal become anatomy, jewelry, expression, and attitude.

That transformation is central to Bobby Anderson's sculptural work. The original materials remain visible, but together they become something unexpected, functional, and unmistakably alive.
