Clowny
Original Sculptural Lighting by Bobby Anderson, RVA246
Clowny is an expert juggler on most days, but this one has gone a little sideways.
Somebody blew a fuse, the big top is spinning, and the act is falling apart. Clowny’s spring-loaded arms are still ready for a comical game of catch, while his metal flower-cup hands make every pose feel slightly unpredictable. His head turns, his hat adjusts, and a glass observation bubble tops the whole contraption.
Vintage glass marble eyes glow from beneath the brim, and a compact LED light illuminates the glass enclosure above his head. Even when the performance goes wrong, Clowny keeps trying.

The Big Top Is Spinning
Clowny turns mechanical parts into a character caught somewhere between performance and calamity.
The spring-loaded arms, movable head, asymmetrical eyes, and oddball hat give the piece a nervous comic energy, while the illuminated glass enclosure adds a strange little glow above the action. He may not have the show completely under control, but he is absolutely committed to finishing the act.
There is only one Clowny.
