Artist Bio

I am a Memphis-based artist and maker working at the intersection of sculpture, design, storytelling, and invention. My background spans studio art, art history, film production, communications, and years of practical creative problem-solving.

That mix of art, engineering, improvisation, and communication shapes everything I make. I am drawn to discarded and timeworn materials, objects that have already lived a life and still carry presence. A lamp post base, antique stove part, furnace pipe, broken lighting fixture, or reclaimed window can become the beginning of a new character.

My work has been recognized in juried exhibitions, including awards from the Memphis Germantown Art League. Whether I am building a sculptural lamp, wall piece, or smaller companion figure, I approach each work as a one-of-a-kind original with its own personality, balance, and story.

Artist Statement

We are shaped by experience. We adapt. We lose parts of ourselves and find new ones. We carry history forward. My work reflects that process.

I create lamps, sculpture, and wall art from salvaged and reclaimed materials because transformation is beautiful to me. A scorched surface, worn edge, bent arm, weathered pane of glass, or rusted metal part can become part of something whole, expressive, and unexpectedly joyful.

These works are not made to feel cold or industrial. They are made to feel alive. I want each piece to have presence, humor, resilience, and soul. Some feel like companions. Some feel like guardians. Some feel like artifacts from a world that almost existed.

At the center of my practice is a belief that creativity means seeing new life in what already exists. That spirit drives invention, art, problem-solving, and survival. My pieces are built from that idea. They are one-of-a-kind works about character, reinvention, and continuing to shine.

Process & Materials

I work with found objects, antique parts, retired tools, reclaimed wood, lighting elements, and industrial fragments. Each piece grows through intuition, engineering, craftsmanship, and the challenge of turning unlikely materials into something whole and expressive. Characters, be they sculptural or on paper, develop through a process of serendipitous discovery and conscious restraint.
